Books For African Schools does not ask for, nor accept, cash donations: we only want books we can ship or sell, or (with less enthusiasm) items for the book sale. We do not need any more volunteers for book packing, etc., at this time.

DROP-OFF POINTS : But if you live in the Bay Area, but outside of Berkeley, there is something you can do that will help us a great deal. We need drop-off points for book donations. This means people in your town who want to donate can drop off books at your house; when several donations have accumulated, we can drive from Berkeley to pick them up. Thus, you will need to have storage space available for a few boxes of books. If you would be willing to help in this way, please e-mail us. We can post an ad on Craig's List giving your address as a drop-off point. Then you just store the books as they come in (a typical donation is a bag of books). Give us a call when you have a car-load and we'll come get them.

I you are willing to do even more than this, you could put up posters and talk to your friends about the book drive, or put out a box for donations at some place such as at work or in church. If you are willing to drive to donors in your area, that is best of all, since some donors can't, or won't, bring the books to you.
